Shorebirds fall to Fred Nats in series opener

SALISBURY, Md. – The Shorebirds fell in their series opening game with the Fredericksburg Nationals, 6-0, at Perdue Stadium Tuesday afternoon.

Elijah Green, one of the top prospects in the Washington Nationals’ farm system, drove in the first run of the game in the first inning. Brenner Cox followed that up with an RBI single in the second for Fredericksburg.

Phillip Glasser added a two-run double in the ninth to close the scoring for the Nats.

The Shorebirds (2-13) will square off with the Nationals in the second game of their set Wednesday night at 7:05 PM.
