Salisbury firefighter recognized as Outstanding Public Health Leader

SALISBURY, Md. – David Phippin with the Salisbury Fire Department is being honored with the 2023 Outstanding Public Health Leader Award for Wicomico County.

Phippin began his career in 2005 as a paramedic firefighter, later partnering with the Wicomico County Health Department to help create the Swift Team, which helps to decrease 911 calls and emergency room visits for enrolled patients.
