Runners lace up their sneakers for annual SBY marathon

SALISBURY, Md. – The annual Salisbury Marathon took place, Saturday.

For some people, they’ve participated in the event several times before. And for others, like Isaac Johnson, this was their first Marathon.

Johnson said that it took him months of mental and physical training to work up to today’s big race, but he exceeded his own expectations.

“You come so far, but you also still got a little bit to go– your body starts talking to you, your ham strings start pulling at you, your chest starts feeling tight, but that’s when you have to realize, ‘I’ve came too far to stop now and I’m going to make it. I just have to lock in,’ that’s all you can do,” Johnson said.

He added this is the first of many marathons for him.
