Recent traffic initiative in Worcester Co. results in over 70 stops
BERLIN, Md. – Maryland State Police troopers out of the Berlin Barrack have announced the results of a recent traffic safety initiative.
Troopers conducted a targeted safety initiative at the intersection of Route 50 and 610 earlier this week. According to police, the location was chosen due to its high amount of car crashes. During the initiative, officers made 71 traffic stops in four hours, many of which came from failures to make full stops before crossing Route 50. Many of the other violations were for excessive speed and distracted driving.
MSP is planning on additional patrols and other enforcement in the area to reduce dangerous driving.
