Police charge man in connection to Ocean Pines house fire

OCEAN PINES, Md. – A suspect has been charged in connection to an arson late last month.

The fire broke out during the evening hours of March 29th, in the 700 block of Ocean Parkway. Firefighters responded to the scene and learned that a male resident was still inside the home. Crews were able to get into the home and found a small fire in a bedroom, which they were able to quickly extinguish. The occupant was able to evacuate without injury.

Further investigation revealed that the fire had been intentionally set. The suspect, Felix Rounds Jr., was taken to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional for evaluation and treatment.

Later that night, deputy fire marshals obtained a warrant for Rounds, who was discharged from the hospital on Friday and taken into custody. He is currently being held without bond on first degree arson and reckless endangerment charges.
