Police arrest Bridgeville man for selling stolen car
BRIDGEVILLE, Del. – A Bridgeville man has been charged after police say he sold a stolen car.
On April 12th, troopers were called to investigate a reported vehicle theft from a property in the 4600 block of Dublin Hill Road in Bridgeville. It was learned that the victim’s gray 2004 Ford Taurus had been parked on his friend’s property with the friend’s permission since 2021. The previous day, the victim found that the car was no longer on the property, and his friend, identified as 66-year-old Henry Williams, could not provide the whereabouts of the car.
Through further investigation, police discovered that Williams falsely claimed to be the owner of the vehicle and allegedly sold it to a car dealer in Laurel on April 10th.
A warrant was obtained for Williams, who turned himself into Troop 5 and was charged with selling stolen property valued over $1500, theft of a motor vehicle, theft by false pretense, and falsifying business records.
