Man robbed by large group in Dover parking lot, police investigating

DOVER, Del. – Police are investigating after a man was reportedly robbed in a parking over the weekend.

According to police, the incident took place shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Cosmic Smoke. Officers arrived at the scene and met with a 33-year-old man, who was suffering from injuries as a result of the assault but refused medical treatment.

Further investigation revealed that the victim was getting out of his car when he was confronted by a group of 15 to 20 people, aged approximately 10 to 19 years old. Several subjects then allegedly began physically assaulting the victim, demanding he turn over property. The suspect stole a key fob from the victim and fled.
