Lewes Historical Society to showcase new exhibit highlighting Black history

LEWES, Del. – The Lewes Historical Society is showcasing a new exhibit, Friday.
Voices heard: The History and Legacy of the Black Community in Lewes, sheds a light on the rich Black history that grew its roots in Lewes, years ago.
Director of education, Jose Marcos Salaverria, said the gallery will encourage people to think about the past and apply those teachings to the present.
“I hope everyone walks away with, ‘Why should we all care about this?” Salaverria said.
The exhibit will kick off from 5 – 8 and will be available for viewing through December 29th.
