Juvenile arrested on attempted burglary charges in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Police arrested a juvenile early Thursday morning for attempted burglary at a Dover business.

According to police, an alarm notification came in just after 2 a.m. at First State Vape, located at 470 North DuPont Highway. Officers quickly responded and saw two men running from the business on foot. After a quick chase, officers were able to take a 15-year-old male into custody, however, they could not locate the second suspect.

Further investigation revealed that the suspects shattered the front glass of the business in an attempt to steal items, however, the suspects were not successful and did not steal anything from the store.

The 15-year-old was charged with attempted third degree burglary, second degree conspiracy, criminal mischief over $1000, resisting arrest, and attempted theft under $1500. He was later turned over to his guardian.
