Good Morning Delmarva discusses the UMES quiz bowl team competing at the national championship
47ABC – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Quiz Bowl Team placed third at the Norfolk State Tournament and advanced to competing at the National Championship Tournament in Los Angeles!
This morning, the coach Earl Holland, stopped by Good Morning Delmarva to discuss what it was like for the team to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity.
Holland tells us the competition is really interactive for the students and an overall fun experience!
He says they focused on topics such as black history, literature, and pop culture.
They practice multiple times a week and mapped out a game plan.
He says the hardest part of the competition is not siking yourself out and comparing yourself to others.
