Fatal shooting leads to murder charges for Dover man
DOVER, Del. – Police have arrested one on murder charges stemming from a shooting in the Dover area Sunday night.
Just after 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of South Governors Avenue and West Reed Street for a reported shooting, finding the victim, a 15-year-old Dover male, suffering from gunshot wounds. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further investigation revealed that the victim was walking in the area when a group of suspects reportedly ambushed him and fired multiple shots at him. Police identified 19-year-old Breshawn Best as one of the suspects responsible for the shooting.
Best was arrested and charged with first degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and first degree conspiracy. He was held at SCI on a $1,086,000 cash bail.
