Dover AFB Airman arrested for attempted enticement of a minor
DOVER, Del. – An active-duty airman with the Dover Air Force Base has been arrested and charged with the attempted enticement of a minor.
According to documents, 36-year-old Armand Lu, a Technical Sergeant assigned to the Dover Air Force Base, met whom he believed to be a 14-year-old girl online and began communicating with her via text message. Over the course of several weeks, Lu expressed interest in meeting and having sex with the girl, acknowledging at one point that he could go to prison if he were caught. Lu arranged to meet with the girl on April 2nd while her mother was at work, informing her that he had purchased intimate items, including condoms, honey, and lubricant.
Lu arrived at the planned meeting location, at which time he learned that the “girl” was actually a Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. Lu was subsequently arrested and charged.
If convicted, Lu faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, with a mandatory minimum term of ten years in prison.
