Delaware State Police arrest man for drug offenses following foot chase
DOVER, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a man for drug charges and resisting arrest early Saturday morning in Dover, following a traffic stop that led to a foot chase.
A white 2022 Chrysler Pacifica with Oklahoma registration was observed driving at a high speed on President Drive and failing to maintain its lane. When a trooper initiated a traffic stop, the vehicle pulled into a residential driveway and the driver and another male exited the vehicle, walking into the residence. The driver, later identified as 34-year-old George Brinkley, then ran out of the house, fleeing on foot. A short time later, Brinkley was apprehended. $2,570 was found in his back pocket. A search of the vehicle revealed 0.714 grams of heroin, 17.9 grams of marijuana, two MDMA pills, and one cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride pill.
Brinkley was processed at Troop 3 and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7. He was released on a $12,552 unsecured bond. He is charged with 1 felony among 6 total offenses, including: possession with intent to deliver controlled substance, resisting arrest, and driving on a suspended license.
