Del. man pleads guilty in 2022 Dover murder

KENT CO., Del. – A Wilmington man has been convicted of murder in Kent County.

20-year-old Marcus Bailey pleaded guilty earlier this month to second degree murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The charges stem from an incident on March 24, 2022, when Bailey allegedly met with the victim, Bruce Wright, near the Capital Park housing development to buy marijuana products. During the exchange, Bailey reportedly refused to pay and shot Wright in the head before fleeing with the stolen drugs.

At the time of sentencing, Bailey agreed not to request less than 20 years in prison, and the State agreed to cap its prison sentence recommendation at 30 years.
