April Poets Corner to feature book launch and special announcement

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Arts, Business, and Culture Department continues to host their Poets Corner, along with City Poet Laureate Nancy Mitchell.

This month, a special announcement and book launch is taking place.

“A constant beacon, a steady low star, to guide us home 30 as we revolve around your round-about, we’ll all learn we must slow down, yield to others, and go with the flow,” is an excerpt from Poets on the Plaza, a book comprised of commemorative poems about Salisbury, written by locals and giving evidence of poetry and culture right here in the City.

The book launches this Thursday at the Poets Corner, which is held the second Thursday of every month until June. Each month will have a theme and a guest speaker.

The Poet Laureate for the City and Caroline O’Hare, Events Manager for the City’s ABCD Department, says they’re thrilled to hold these events for community members in order to grow and diversify culture right here in the city.

They will be launching their Poets on the Plaza book this Thursday at Salisbury Headquarters from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. To learn more or sign up to read, click here.
