4 run 6th inning lifts Golden Knights over Indian River
DAGSBORO, Del.– Sussex Central defeated Indian River in a final score of 4-1 on Thursday afternoon.
It was a pitchers duel throughout 5 innings of play, neither team could draw a walk or get a hit. Central would eventually crack the game open in the top half of the 6th inning.
It all started with a steal from Takyla Davis to give Lauren Myers a chance to give them the lead. Myers would hit an infield single to drive in Davis for the 1-0 lead. Madge Layfield and Avery Savage would pick up hits of their own to give the Golden Knights a bigger lead.
Central moves to 9-2 on the season while Indian River falls to 7-5.
