Worcester United to hold rally for education funding

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – Worcester United is calling on the community to come out and show support for the school district.

On April 14th, the group will hold a Rally on the Ocean City board walk to bring attention to the much-needed funding that some district parents are asking for.

Worcester United administrator, Mary Hathaway, said she hopes the rally will resonate with county commissioners, because the dollars are what helps keep the school district going.

“We wanted to show the community and the county commissioners that education is our priority,” Hathaway said. “Keeping class sizes small, keeping highly educated teachers, keeping after school programs, summers academies, all of these great resources that are available to students at Worcester County schools.”
