Virtual bootcamp helps prepare Delaware high school students for college
DELAWARE – An upcoming boot camp looks to assist Delaware high school students with the college admissions process.
It’s called the Delaware Goes to College Academy Bootcamp, which is both virtual and completely free. It’s made possible through a partnership between the nonprofit TeenSHARP and the Delaware Department of Education.
The program dives into everything from how students can pay for college to helping them find the right fit. Currently, more than 700 students are registered across the state. “They come in and we demystify the process and remove some of the stress of thinking about college, applying for college, and wondering if you can afford it,” TeenSHARP CEO Atnre Alleyne said.
“They get a chance to hear from other Delaware students who’ve gone through the program over the years and gotten into great colleges with great scholarships and other aid. They get to hear from college representatives that visit as well.”
The bootcamp prioritizes all Delaware high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
The bootcamp will run from Monday, April 1st through Friday, April 5th. To find out more information or to register, click here
