Vietnam Veterans to be celebrated at Salisbury VFW, Friday

SALISBURY, Md.  – The Salisbury VFW is set to celebrate Vietnam Veterans, tomorrow evening.

It wasn’t until 2012 that Vietnam War Veterans had a National Day of Celebration, and right here in Salisbury, the VFW has been celebrating since 2017.

VFW Member, Calvin Mitchell, said honoring Vietnam Veterans is a vital part of preserving that history, and what better way to do it than getting as many vets together as possible for a night of storytelling and celebration.

“We came back from Vietnam, and we didn’t even have equal rights at home. We had riot control here when we came back, and it was really bad for us and they finally recognize the Vietnam Veterans lately,” Mitchell said.

The event will kick off at 6PM Friday at the VFW in Salisbury.
