Senator Chris Van Hollen meets with officials to discuss ways to enhance H-2B Visa program

EASTON, Md. – While Senator Chris Van Hollen was on his Talbot County tour, he made a stop at J.M. Clayton Seafood Company.
The purpose of his visit was to discuss ways to enhance the experience of H-2B Visa employees.
Senator Van Hollen said he and fellow lawmakers have been working hard to ensure desired recipients can receive a visa, so they can come and work in an industry that is the heart of Delmarva: Aquaculture.
“We need workers to help process the demand. There has been a shortage of workers, so we’ve worked at the federal level to try to expand the number of H-2b Visas, to make sure that the kind of visas that are needed, people can continue to come here and do this important work,” Senator Van Hollen said.
During the visit, Senator Van Hollen discussed legislation to permanently fix the H-2B program.
