Search warrant leads to three arrests on drug, firearm offenses

SEAFORD, Del. – Three people have been arrested after a search warrant at a Seaford home led to the discovery of drugs and firearms.

On Thursday, members from multiple agencies executed a search warrant at a home in the 25000 block of Haven Drive following an investigation in the distribution of illegal drugs from the property. Inside of the house, police located three suspects, identified as 22-year-old Jaylyn Faison, 38-year-old Shantae Cannon, and 19-year-old Tayeanna Hughes.

During a search of the property and a vehicle, police found the following:

  • Approximately 1.057 grams of heroin
  • Approximately 4.6 grams of crack cocaine
  • Approximately 15.31 grams of cocaine
  • Loaded Smith and Wesson .40 Caliber handgun
  • 40 .40 Caliber rounds of ammunition
  • 5 12-gauge shotgun shells
  • Drug paraphernalia

The trio were taken into custody as a result of the search.

Faison was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity, second degree conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held at SCI on a $23,200 secured bond.

Cannon was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 2 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 2 quantity, maintaining a drug property, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $16,500 unsecured bond.

Hughes was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity, second degree conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia, and was released on a $9,400 unsecured bond.
