Seahawks boys basketball headed to states

BERLIN, Md. – Decatur hoisted their 3A region title for the second straight season with a 63-55 victory over Severna Park Tuesday night.

Decatur built an early consistent lead, eventually heading into the locker room up by double digits at halftime.

The Seahawk lead ballooned to as many as 16 points in the third quarter. That lead began to evaporate throughout the fourth quarter as Decatur missed 9-of-18 free throws in the period.

Devin Chandler led the team with 23 points, Trybe Wise scored 17, Careen Bolden dropped 12, and Brycen Coleman added 10.

Decatur will host their state quarterfinal game later this week.
