Princess Anne home destroyed in fire, investigation underway

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Fire marshals are investigating a fire that destroyed a Princess Anne home Monday afternoon.

The fire was reported just after 1 p.m. at 32451 West Post Office Road. Firefighters battled the blaze for roughly 90 minutes before bringing it under control.

Officials say three dogs and multiple cats were killed in the fire. Total damage has been estimated at $180,000, and the family is being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
