President of Tobyn’s Triumph showcases new book on Good Morning Delmarva
47ABC – Cassie Duffy, author and president of the non-profit Tobyn’s Triumph, stopped by Good Morning Delmarva to share more about her new book.
It’s called “Raising Spina Bifida Awareness: Tobyn’s Triumph” and the book touches on a variety of stories of families, from all over the world, who have experienced dealing with the rare condition.
Duffy tells us Spina Bifida is an opening in the spine that can cause paralysis and lose of ability to walk.
She says her youngest daughter was diagnosed with Spina Bifida while pregnant, but through fetal surgery they were able to close the hole and she is thriving at 4-years-old.
Duffy says she was inspired to write the book to inform other women of Spina Bifida and the options they have.
Her non-profit, Tobyn’s Triumph, was created to provide women with resources and care packages to those diagnosed with the condition.
She says her driving force is bring hope and inspiration to others.
