Police arrest man for attempted vehicle theft in Sussex Co.

GEORGETOWN, Del. – A Maryland man was arrested following an attempted vehicle theft in Georgetown Friday night.

At around 8:40 p.m., troopers responded to a residence in the 21000 block of Zoar Road, meeting with the victim in the driveway. The victim told police that she walked outside of her home after hearing her Chrysler minivan’s horn sound, finding an unknown man in the driver’s seat. The victim confronted the man and reportedly discovered that he had stolen cash from the center console and damaged the multi-sector switch.

The suspect, 18-year-old Dragco Wiggins, was taken into custody and charged with attempt to commit theft of a motor vehicle, theft under $1500, tampering with vehicle, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass. He was held at SCI on a $750 cash bond.
