Pinehurst Elementary teacher honored as March Teacher Who Makes A Difference
SALISBURY, Md. – Congratulations are in order for our March Teacher Who Makes A Difference! Mr. Timothy Peake is a 4th-grade teacher at Pinehurst Elementary School.
Peake has been teaching for 10 years now and tells us it’s a privilege to be able to do his job and create lasting relationships with his students.
Nominators tell us Peake, better known as Mr. T, creates a unique classroom setting for his students. He conducts breathing techniques and positive affirmations and he fosters a positive environment for learning.
Whether being their biggest supporter or picking them up when they’re down, he says he’s just happy he’s making a difference and hopes other teachers feel encouraged to do so as well. “I just appreciate getting to do the work and to be a part of the journey with kids, people trust me to do it and I don’t take that lightly,” says Mr. T. “They depend on you, it’s a big responsibility to stand in front of them daily and try to help grow them, develop them, help them learn things, so stay the course, be patient and try to enjoy the process.”
Many tears were shed by students who told us they were so happy to see their teacher get the attention they also believe he deserved.
The Teacher Who Makes A Difference award is brought to you in part by Pam Price and Associates. They helped us surprise the teacher with goodies, flowers, and a certificate.
