Pair arrested in connection to attempted robbery in Dover
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police have arrested two men on charges stemming from an attempted robbery investigation Thursday morning.
At around 10:45 a.m., officers received a hold up alarm at Cricket Wireless, located at 1225 North DuPont Highway. It was learned that two men walked into the store, one armed with a taser, and demanded that an employee of the store turn over property. The suspects did not receive any property and fled from the store in a vehicle.
Later that day, Smyrna Police were called to T-Mobile for a suspected robbery, and the suspects matched the description of the suspects involved in the Cricket Wireless incident.
Officers were able to track down the suspects to a service area in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, where they were taken into custody by New Jersey State Police. The suspects were then identified as 25-year-old Michael Larbi and a 17-year-old juvenile. It was also determined through the investigation that these suspects were also responsible for a robbery at Verizon on February 12th.
The pair are currently being held in New Jersey, awaiting extradition to Delaware, where they will be formally charged in connection to these incidents.
