UPDATE: One killed in Kent Co. crash, police investigating

HOUSTON, Del. – Delaware State Police are searching for witnesses in a fatal Kent County crash.

Just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, police say a 2019 Kia Sportage was traveling northbound on Broad Street, approaching the stop sign at Milford-Harrington Highway. A dump truck was traveling eastbound on Milford-Harrington Highway, approaching Broad Street, which is a throughway. For unknown reasons, the Kida reportedly did not remain stopped at the stop sign and pulled directly into the path of the dump truck.

The driver of the dump truck, a 59-year-old Harrington man, was not injured.

The driver of the Kia, an 85-year-old Magnolia woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
