DELAWARE – A new resource looks to provide support for Delawareans who’ve been impacted by suicide.

DJ’s Alliance offers peer-to-peer support services, training, and connects those in need to the appropriate agencies. They’re also in the process of creating care packages with resources specific to grief and suicide prevention.

Founder Jennifer Antonik’s husband died by suicide in 2021. She tells us there’s little to no support for survivors in Kent and Sussex counties and hopes the nonprofit can be fill in the gaps. “We believe that postvention is prevention. Our hope and biggest goal over time is that these efforts are working as suicide prevention efforts and suicide rates here in Delaware will decrease,” Antonik said.

“Not everyone has that community of friends and family or have a supportive atmosphere. We wanted to recreate that in a way that serves the whole state so that when tragedy strikes, they will have support available to them at the drop of a hat.”

DJ’s Alliance is still in need of volunteers and donations.

They also advise anyone with a mental health emergency to contact the 24/7 988 Suicide & Crisis Hotline.

DJ’s Alliance is also one of the participating nonprofits in this year’s Delaware Do More 24 campaign. To support their efforts click here
