New hometown hero banners honor Delmar veterans

DELMAR, Md.- The Town of Delmar is looking to honor local veterans in a special way. Applications for the new Hometown Hero Banners are now being accepted.

The banners will stand as a tribute to Veterans, living or deceased, who are connected to the area in some way. They will showcase a person’s name, photo, branch of the military, and era of service.

With a price of $55, Mayor Tom Bauer told us they’re able to keep that price low due to the town providing funding for the project. Mayor Bauer added these banners will serve as a symbol of their hard work and dedication. “It’s a feel-good program and it’s a great way to give back to the community,” Mayor Bauer said.  “Delmar loves Delmar. This is another way to show how much Delmar loves Delmar.”
