FRUITLAND, Md. – A Fruitland childcare program was temporarily suspended following an investigation earlier this month.

On March 14th, the Crown Sports Center’s childcare program was suspended after a complaint was received regarding a child being left unattended on a bus. The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) promptly launched an investigation, which confirmed that a child had been left unattended on the bus for a period of time.

The Center was found to be in violation of four regulations, and on Monday, March 25th, a compliance agreement was reached, requiring the Center to install safety features on buses and training for staff members.

The program was allowed to reopen on Monday. We have reached out multiple times to Crown Care but have not received a comment yet.
