Less than a week away from Spring Street Market in SBY

SALISBURY, Md. – We are just over a week away from the First Spring Street Market in Salisbury.

“The event next week is the first event by the Downtown Salisbury Business Alliance and it is our Spring Street Market,” says Nicole Blackwater, of the Downtown Salisbury Business Alliance. “It’s a street festival and sort of an open house of all of the downtown businesses.”

Organizers are promising live music, food, arts and crafts, vendors and more.

Blackwater owns and operates Blackwater Apothecary right on Main Street. She helped found the newly formed Downtown Salisbury Business Alliance. The group came together because organizers say it can be challenging to have a business downtown.

“We’re hoping to show people around Salisbury that there is a vibrant downtown community and putting on this event will bring the community together. Everyone will be out and we can really show off what thriving businesses we have downtown,” says Blackwater.

The Spring Market will be March 23rd from 12PM to 5PM and it’s free to attend. It’s just the first of many things planned from the Downtown Salisbury Business Alliance.

“Next the Downtown Salisbury Business Alliance will be officially organizing and our first project is ‘Main Street in Bloom.’ We’ll be working to put flowers on all of the light polls as a beautification project of our beautiful downtown,” explains Blackwater.
