Gov. Wes Moore holds press conference for updates on the Key Bridge collapse

 

DUNDALK, Md.- Maryland Governor Wes Moore held a press conference today to provide an update on the collapse of the Key Bridge.

Shortly after 10 a.m., a red pickup was located under twenty-five feet of water inside the vehicle, and rescue officials found two victims.

The victims were identified as 26-year-old Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera of Dundalk and 35-year-old Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes of Baltimore.

Police say they believe more vehicles are encased in the superstructure and concrete.

Governor Moore says he’s been in contact with the Biden Administration to receive emergency funding to help deal with the tragedy.

During the press conference, Governor Moore said the collapse of the key bridge is not just a Maryland crisis the collapse of the key bridge is a global crisis. The national economy and the world’s economy depends on the port of Baltimore.

“The collapse of the key bridge is not just a Maryland crisis the collapse of key bridge is a global crisis,” Governor Moore emphasized. “The national economy and the worlds economy depends on the port of Baltimore.”

Governor Moore also says that there is no timeline for when the emergency funds will be dispersed.
