Gas outage impacting parts of Dover

DOVER, Del. – An unexpected gas outage is currently affecting some Chesapeake Utilities customers in the Dover area.

We’re told the outage is affecting customers along Route 13 in the North Dover area.

Technicians are working to restore service as soon as possible, however, customers should prepare for the possibility of not having natural gas service tonight. Citizens should not try to turn on their meter; only a Chesapeake Utilities, Sharp Energy, or Eastern Shore Natural Gas employee can safely restore natural gas service.

Customers will receive a robocall when their service has been restored. Notifications will be made no later than 8 p.m., however, if your service is restored after 8 p.m., you will receive a robocall Friday morning.
