First oral arguments heard in appeal of Mailloux case

Worcester County, Md.- Initial oral arguments were held in the appeal case against Tyler Mailloux Friday morning.

Mailloux was charged in the 2022 hit and run which killed 14 year old Gavin Knupp of Berlin.

Those charges were made in May of 2023, however in August of that year they were dismissed by a Worcester County court judge over lack of jurisdiction.

The Worcester County State attorney’s office quickly filed the appeal following the dismissal.

It should be noted that these oral arguments are just the start of the appeal process and no decision has been made concerning the appeal at this time.
