Emerging Leaders: William Suess

47ABC – It’s Monday and that means it’s time to introduce you to a new emerging leader!

William Suess was recently awarded the Wicomico Rotary HERO award for a courageous act.

William stopped by Good Morning Delmarva to share his story and how it felt to be recognized for his efforts.

He tells us he noticed his neighbor fall into the waterway behind their home and he jumped in to rescue him.

William is a former volunteer firefighter and boy scout, so it was just an instant reaction to help save his friend.

He said rescuing his neighbor was quite difficult as the lagoon was filled with mud, but he knows that if it were him in the same situation, his friend would have helped too.

Suess suggests you use the buddy system whenever you are near water.
