Emerging Leaders: Stewart and Carl Ramsey

47ABC – It’s Monday and that means it’s time for emerging leaders – Stewart and Carl Ramsey.

A father and son duo from a sixth generation of farmers.

They were recently recognized for their family’s long history and influence on Delaware Agriculture with the Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association’s Family Service Award.

Stewart and Carl say they are honored to be recognized and it pushes them to keep the farm, which has been around since 1860, going to this day.

Stewart and Carl have expanded the farm to include a produce market, educational classes such as goat yoga and floral arrangement classes, plus other family events.

But they tell us, they see the farm growing to include even more in the future with the support of local consumers.

They say it important that people know where their food is coming from and how to purchase fresh, local food.

The Ramseys are also always finding ways to give back and help their community!

They have helped raise money for children to receive free milk in the area for over 11 years and provide funding for the Foodbank of Delaware.
