Early morning fire damages Sussex Co. home

SUSSEX CO., Del. – Fire marshals are investigating a fire that heavily damaged a Sussex County home early Tuesday morning.

Shortly after 2 a.m., firefighters responded to 25911 Kings Lane for a reported house fire. Crews from multiple agencies responded to battle the blaze.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the fire was in a closet near the back of the home, causing significant damage. The American Red Cross is assisting the residents, an adult and four children, who were displaced as a result of the fire.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal is working to determine the cause.
