Cambridge Shot Spotter investigation leads to stolen handgun arrest
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – A “Shot Spotter Alert” Friday afternoon led Police to an arrest involving a stolen handgun. The alert happened just after 1:30PM on the 800 block of Phillips Street. Cambridge Police found several houses that had been struck and a vehicle. Witnesses said there were four people involved and a white vehicle with Delaware tags.
A K9 unit was used to help track the suspects. Officials say a vehicle matching the description was seen on Willis Street, where four men exited wearing dark clothing and one with blue latex gloves. Dorchester County Sheriff’s Deputies were in the area of Greenwood Avenue and saw the suspects enter an apartment. They say two people left the apartment, and when Cambridge Police arrived on the scene, one of the men ran and was seen dropping a handgun on the ground. The Sheriff’s Department helped apprehend the suspect. The handgun was recovered and found to be stolen out of Hartford County. The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Isaiah David Foster from Cambridge. Officials say Foster was prohibited from possessing a firearm from previous convictions. He is being held without bond and faces multiple charges.
