Wor-Wic Community College opening its Makerspace to the public

SALISBURY, Md. – Wor-Wic Community College has opened its Makerspace to the public. It’s located in the college’s Patricia and Alan Guerrieri Technology Center, and school officials are welcoming sign ups for memberships.

Public lab hours will be Monday and Wednesday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You can get access to 3d printing, laser engraving, poster and decal printing and design software, all for the price of just 20 dollars for 20 hours.

“You have to be able to critically think about what you want to make and how you are going to make it,” said Phil Speed, Applied Tech Lab Coordinator. “That requires you to be somewhat proficient at using the design software that we offer.”

If you want to learn more before you join, Wor-Wic is offering a course in 3D modeling and printing fundamentals. Those will be held February 21st and 28th, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the makerspace.
