Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano commented that Wicomico County, as well as the whole state, are facing difficulties for these first responder positions and hope that this bill will help fix the issue.
“Any sort of recruitment or retention efforts will help.”
“We are doing a fire tax credit here for our fire departments and we are hoping to help with those recruitment efforts.”
County Executive Giordano says that they will support any state programs to help assist fire fighters on the Eastern Shore, and that she has high hopes that this legislation will pass.
