Traffic stop leads to arrest of wanted Philadelphia man in Kent Co.
HARTLY, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Philadelphia man on numerous felony drug charges during a Kent County traffic stop.
At around 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, troopers were patrolling the area of Hourglass Road and Halltown Road in Hartly when they saw a BMW X5 failing to stay in its travel lane while driving eastbound on Halltown Road. A traffic stop was initiated, and contact was made with the driver, identified as 40-year-old Jermaine Morris. It was learned that Morris had active warrants, a suspended driver’s license, and was prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition.
During a search of the vehicle, troopers reportedly found approximately 73.34 grams of powder cocaine, approximately 19.74 grams of crack cocaine, approximately 1.48 grams of heroin, 60 dosage units of Xanax, 43 rounds of .380 ammunition, and nearly $3,000 in suspected drug money.
Morris was held at SCI on a $194,350 cash bond on a list of felony drug and traffic charges.
