The Salisbury Salvation Army receives a life saving piece of technology
SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Salvation Army is now equipped with a potentially life-saving piece of equipment, thanks to The Beat Goes On.
The group supplies non-profit organizations, like the Salvation Army, with automated external defibrillator technology, or AEDs for short.
The Salvation Army also heard from a representative of The Beat Goes On, who shared her story about her life being put in jeopardy because of a heart attack. This sparked her passion with The Beat Goes On.
Captain Angel Simmons says The Beat Goes On applied for a grant from the Perdue Foundation and the Salvation Army was accepted as a recipient.
“We have people of all ages and health and such,” said Simmons. “So, having that machine could be the difference between life and death for an individual.”
Simmons says the devices can cost up to $3,000, but you can’t put a price on saving a life.
