47ABC – Recently, the Jesse Klump Memorial Fund was selected to launch a LOSS team here on the Eastern Shore!
A Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors Team would assist them with helping more community members after the loss of a loved one to suicide.
We sat down with Jennifer LaMade, the executive director, who says this new program will help them continue their mission to bring hope to those dealing with grief.
Jennifer says they are thrilled to be receiving the support. Their funding will help them hire a coordinator and get the program running.
She also tells us they are currently the only non-profit on the eastern shore that has a support group for suicide survivors — which they want to see change!
Jennifer says they will be recruiting volunteers who have lost a loved one to suicide and mental health professionals.
They will be kicking off with an interest meeting February 21st at the Community Foundation in Salisbury at 3PM!
