Talbot Co. mechanical garage destroyed in fire
TALBOT CO., Md. – A mechanical garage was destroyed after a fire broke out Monday afternoon in Talbot County.
Just before 1 p.m., firefighters responded to 32600 Main Street to battle the reported blaze. The fire was upgraded to two alarms, and nearly 70 firefighters battled for approximately 90 minutes before bringing the blaze under control.
State fire marshals determined that the fire was accidental in nature and began after fuel vapors ignited during mechanical work on a vehicle.
Total damage has been estimated at $750,000.
