Suspect arrested in connection to January bomb threats at Wicomico Co. school
MARDELA SPRINGS, Md. – An arrest has been made in connection to a series of bomb threats at Mardela Middle and High School last month.
On January 10th, the school faced a security incident when a series of bomb threats were allegedly directed at the school. After a thorough investigation, including identifying and tracking down VOIP/IP numbers and locations, police were able to identify the suspect as 18-year-old Tre-Quan Worthy.
Detectives learned that Worthy lived in Crisfield, and subsequently traveled to Crisfield to meet with Worthy. He reportedly confessed to his involvement in the bomb threats, explaining that his intentions were not to harm, but to get his friend, who attends the school, out of school for the day.
A criminal summons was issued for Worthy, who was served on February 1st. He was charged with false statement – destructive device, arson/threat of arson, threat of mass violence, and attempting – school disturb operation.
