UPDATE: Two juveniles arrested in connection to Laurel drive-by shooting

2/23 UPDATE: Police have charged two juveniles in connection to this shooting.

After officers located the suspect vehicle at the BP station, two male subjects fled on foot, while two females were found still inside the vehicle. Two loaded firearms were also found in the area where the two men had been sitting.

Police say one of the subjects was quickly apprehended near the gas station, while the second was taken into custody after a foot pursuit and search of the area. A third subject was reported to have been fleeing the area as well, but after officers made contact with the subject, it was determined they were not involved in the shooting investigation.

Further investigation revealed that the two subjects who fled from the stop were responsible for the shooting and were identified as a 15-year-old from Georgetown and a 17-year-old from Lincoln. The two females who were located at the scene were questioned and released without charges.

Both juveniles were found to have prior arrest records, with one having a previous conviction for a firearm-related offense. Both were held at the Stevenson House Juvenile Detention Center on a $15,000 secured bond after being charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, three counts of first degree reckless endangering, three counts of wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and second degree conspiracy.

4:40 p.m. UPDATE: Milford Police located and stopped the vehicle a short time ago at the BP at NW Front Street.

Multiple suspects initially fled from the vehicle, according to police. Five suspects are currently in custody, with one still at large.

Milford PD, Laurel PD, and Delaware State Police, along with police aviation, are continuing to search the area.

LAUREL, Del. – Laurel Police are currently at the scene of a reported shots fired incident.

At around 2:30 p.m., officers responded to Discount Land Road in front of Hollybrook Apartments for multiple reports of shots fired from a vehicle. Officers arrived at the scene to find evidence that a shooting had taken place.

The area is currently closed, and there is an increased police presence. The initial investigation has determined that at least two men fired multiple rounds from a silver 2015 Kia Forte, which has been located. The suspects are still at large.
