SEAFORD, Del. – A local coach is set to walk all the way from Seaford to Rehoboth to raise money for his organization that’s dedicated to helping the community’s youth through sports.

The One Man-Walk-A-Thon is a 33 mile walk from Seaford to Rehoboth that Shawn Williams hopes will raise enough money to continue his mission. That mission being a mentor and advocate for the Seaford community’s children.

Williams’ organization, Seaford Elite Youth Football, allows children between the ages of five and 14 to play football and cheerlead free of charge. He tells us why it’s so important that people donate.

“A lot of kids play football for us that wouldn’t normally play in other organizations, so it cost a lot of money to play football,” Williams said. “It’s something between $175 to $250 bucks per child, and you know we’re doing it here for free.”

Williams tells us he’s excited for the walk which will take place June 22, 2024.
