Salisbury man arrested following chase through Accomack Co.

ACCOMACK CO., Va. – A Salisbury man is behind bars on charges stemming from an early morning attempted traffic stop in Accomack County.

Just after 1 a.m., a deputy reportedly tried to stop a vehicle for failing to maintain its lane of travel on Lankford Highway, in the Tasley area. Police say the driver refused to stop and continued at speeds in excess of 75 mph through the Town of Accomac before returning to Lankford Highway and continuing at speeds in excess of 100 mph. The vehicle eventually wrecked in Bloxom, at which time two occupants got out and fled on foot.

The driver, identified as 21-year-old Malachi Tull, was arrested and charged with felony eluding, driving without a license, and maliciously shooting at or throwing missiles at an occupied vehicle. He was held at the Accomack County Jail without bail.

The second occupant was not located.
