Police searching for witnesses following fatal pedestrian crash in Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – Maryland State Police are asking for help in a fatal pedestrian crash investigation.

Just after 3 a.m. Friday, a motorist called police after seeing something lying on the road in the area of Nanticoke Road near Willow Creek Drive. Deputies with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and found a man on the road, identified as 42-year-old Briece Joynes. Joynes was taken by ambulance to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional, where he reportedly died from his injuries.

Police believe the suspect vehicle was traveling west on Nanticoke Road at the time of the crash and are searching for any witnesses or anyone who traveled in the area between midnight and 3:20 a.m. on February 16th.
